The contents of this archive are the latest version of ArcFax.

Over the years a vast amount of effort went into tuning ArcFax to various
modems, computers and phone systems. The risk with offering an upgrade is
that all that work would have to be repeated. Since that is not practical
the enclosed upgrade is offered on a non-supported basis.

I suggest you make every effort to preserve your current working copy of
ArcFax and treat the enclosed version as a brand new copy, put it somewhere
new on hard disc and configure it.

For most people this new copy should run with no work at all. There's no
need to reinstall the printer driver side of ArcFax. This copy is set to use
the best Class 1 driver available which will work with most modems.

If you're someone with an unusual system then you're going to have to recall
just how you got ArcFax working originally. Don't ask me, I don't remember 8-)

An up to date PDumperAF module is enclosed - installing this consists of
copying it over the old one, if you actually use it.

If you have problems with this new version of ArcFax, just delete it and
carry on using the version you were using before. I am not going to expend a
lot of time sorting out problems with this version.

The contents of this archive are copyright, by making them easily accesible
to existing users, there is no implied change in the commercial
status of the program.

Some notes on modem drivers

Class20V - Class 2.0 with voice
Class2 Class 2 - NB Class 2 is not Class 2.0
Class1VA Class 1 with voice

The above are the drivers you should be using. The other drivers are special
cases.

Class1VJ Class 1 + voice for modems like the Jetway that don't echo
                commands properly.
Class1 Old Class 1 with voice
ZyXEL ZyXEL Class 2 + voice modems
Class8 Class 2 + voice
Hayes Class 1 tuned for Hayes modems.
